Why hello September! How did you get here so quickly? This past month was pretty awesome, to be perfectly honest.
In August I…
- Gave my two weeks notice and started a new job
- Visited my brother in Las Vegas
- Attended the Healthy Living Summit in Philadelphia
- Was in the Express Newspaper for my Crazy Commute
- Experienced an earthquake in Washington, DC
- Went through Hurricane Irene
August Goals
- Get back into my normal morning routine: Woop Woop!
- Go to spin class every Tuesday and Thursday: I went at least once a week…
- Create a 15 K training program for Neal and I: Yeppers! Check it out!
- Enjoy my three weeks off from graduate school: You know it!
- Begin integrating weight lifting into my weekly routine: Not really. I lifted here and there but was not consistent
September Goals
- September Mantra: “Plate Produce First”! I want to live out this mantra this month with the goal of eating more fruits and veggies each meal. I want at least 1/2 of my plate to be filled with fruits or veggies, leaving 1/4 for protein and 1/4 for carbs.
- Rock the house on my 15K training program!
- Read The Flexitarian Diet (Dawn is amazing by the way!!)
- Be productive with graduate work on weekdays in order to enjoy the weekends with Neal and friends.
- Have my first giveaway on Coffee Cake and Cardio!
- Try one new recipe each week
What are your goals for September?
I’m really working on introducing new meals into our weeknight dinners. Really looking outside the box and getting out of this food rut! Great goals! 🙂
My goals are:
-Maintain a healthy work/life balance when I go back to work near the end of the month (this includes the keeping my morning gym routine!).
-Do a new budget (ours goes out the window during the summer because we travel so much).
-Plan an amazing birthday party for my soon to be one year old!
I just blogged about my September goals too!! I’m with you on the one new recipe a week. Too many food ruts! I’m also training for a 15K but it’s not till December so I’m starting my official training plan in October.
Congrats on accomplishing your August goals 🙂
Cute picture collage!
Love the action mantra;)
Ooo this is awesome. I definitely want/need to make my monthly goals!
I love your goals “Plate Produce First” and “Try one new recipe each week”
During August I decided to try one new recipe a week and ended up making at least 2-3 new ones each week! It has made me appreciate different flavors and tastes soo much more.
Another goal I am working on is buying at least one new vegetable (or one I don’t normally buy) to incorporate into meals. Last week it was Brussels sprouts, this week it’s eggplant!
